An Evening of poetry and prose to benefit the
KITENGESA COMMUNITY LIBRARY PROJECT in Uganda

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2010, AT 7:00 P.M.
A silent auction at 7:00 will offer craft items from Uganda and elsewhere in Africa.
The reading will begin at 7:30. Coffee and cookies will be served.

on the southwest corner of Lexington Avenue and 68th StreetImportant Instructions: Hunter College no longer provides open access to visitors, so please check in at the Visitors Center on the First Floor of the West Building to obtain a Visitor?s Pass. Say that you are coming to the Kitengesa Community Library Benefit. Once you have passed the turnstiles, go up the escalators to the third floor, pass the cafeteria on your right, and take the elevator to the eighth floor.

Featuring Meena Alexander
Distinguished Professor of English at Hunter College and the CUNY Graduate CenterProf. Alexander is considered one of the foremost poets of her generation. Her work has been widely anthologized and translated, and her acclaimed memoir Fault Lines was picked as one of Publishers Weekly?s Best Books. She will be reading some new poems, as well as a brief prose piece from Fault Lines.
