The evening opens with a screening of the HSWU ?Open Book? campaign highlights featuring narration by Jeff Johnson and poignant remarks from such notables as Mo?Nique, Ruby Dee, John Amos, Susan L. Taylor, Geoffrey Canada, Felicia ?Snoop? Pearson, Jamie Hector, Terry McMillan and the Rev. Al Sharpton. Grammy-nominated rap artist, Heavy D, will perform.

?The Open Book? explores the mental health epidemic of depression in the African American community: what it looks like, sounds like and feels like. Our aim is to alert, educate and transform individuals suffering from this illness who may be unaware.
