A writing contest for Harlem youth, ages 13? 19. Its goals are to:
Celebrate the creativity of Harlem?s young writers / Provide greater exposure for these new voices / Bridge generational gaps between established and emerging writers of color.

The UpSouth Youth Lit Contest is sponsored by the UpSouth International Book Festival (USIBF). Founded in 2005, USIBF promotes high-quality, cutting-edge and socially relevant work by authors from around the globe, with a special focus on Harlem.
