A Post Election Forum on the Outcome
of the November 4th Election

Ben Epstein is a Political Science Teaching Fellow at Brooklyn College and currently working on his PhD at the CUNY Graduate Center focusing on American Politics and Public Policy. His areas of interest include racial and ethnic politics, constitutional issues, and the role of the Internet and ?netroots? activity within
American politics. He also served as a volunteer on the Obama-NYC campaign.

Kevin Powell is a political activist, poet, essayist, hip-hop historian, public speaker, lecturer, and entrepreneur. Following unsuccessful 2006 and 2008 candidacies for the United States Congress in New York?s 10th congressional district. Powell has written numerous essays, articles, and reviews through the years and has
published eight books, including Someday We?ll All Be Free, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Who?s Gonna Take the Weight? and The Black Male Handbook: A Blueprint for Life.

Eisa Nefertari Ulen, lecturer of English at Hunter College in New York City, has written several widely anthologized essays. Nominated by Essence magazine for a National Association of Black Journalists Award, she has contributed to numerous other publications, including The Washington Post, Ms., Health, and CreativeNonfiction.org. Her awards include a Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center Fellowship for Young African American Fiction Writers and a Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center Fellowship. Her recent book is titled, Crystelle Mourning.
