I’ve never visited this campus personally, but I did receive this appeal and thought I would share it with the world:
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
As you may already know I am the Principal of Parkway School. For those not familiar with our organization, Parkway School is a 501(c) not-for-profit private school. Established in 1982, Parkway continues to promote academic excellence and community leadership among our students. Our belief is in the core value of education. With a focus on literacy and the sciences, we prepare our students to be valuable contributors to a global community.
Every year elementary and junior high schools are often called upon to do more with less. At Parkway School, we remain dedicated to offering the highest level of education and enrichment to our students. Fundraising is a critical part of helping us to achieve our goals.
This year your donor dollars will go towards the following:
– 8 academic scholarships – Awarded to local economically disadvantaged youngsters in grades 1-8.
– New computers for the computer lab ? 30 computers and software for the creative writing program.
– Science equipment for the school?s science lab ? Microscopes, projectors and other support materials.
– Arts, Music & Education Program ? In school training and appreciation. Field trips to museums, plays, etc.
– Education Without Walls Program ? Field trips to Wall Street, Bronx Zoo, Empire State Building, etc.
– After School Program – Reading Ready and High School Prep.
I am contacting you on behalf of Parkway School to request your support in the form of a tax-deductible donation.
Parkway School is a tuition driven organization serving children in pre-school ? 8th Grade. Our tuition has remained affordably priced to allow increased access to quality education for minority students. As such, we rely on the donations of alumni, friends and corporate sponsors to supplement many of programs and initiatives.
I am asking for your assistance in the form of a tax-deductible donation to Parkway School. We work hard to ensure the educational success of our students. It is not only our motto, but our belief that Not For School, But For Life We Learn. We strive to grow our school community with each passing year and I hope we can count on your generous donation and support. However, if you are unable to give a monetary donation, products and services are also welcome.
