Eisa on Farai Chideya’s Bloggers’ Roundtable With Anthony Bradley and Earl Dunovant

Today on NPR’s News and Notes with Farai Chideya, I discussed Oprah’s support for Barack Obama and the Weeks-Bynum business. Farai’s guests included Anthony Bradley of The Institute and Earl Dunovant of Prometheus 6.

On Oprah supporting Obama, Anthony suggested that Oprah can’t win and that the blogosphere has changed everything in politics. Earl said that most of the folk posting negative comments on Oprah’s site aren’t actually her fans. He said that folk who want to “challenge Obama” are posting nasty comments. Then Earl broke down how this “guerrilla marketing” happens online.

On Bynum, Anthony discussed the “blend of sex, money, and power” in their hot public mess and the history of abuse in the church, particularly among men of power. Earl discussed the issues of power in their marriage.

Tell me what you think of my comments about both topics. You know I love your feedback.

Also, my husband Ralph and I ran into Toure as we entered the NPR offices this morning. Proud Papa showed us pics of his amazing baby boy – just one month this Christmas. Precious. Toure guest-hosted on The Bryant Park Project this morning, which you can listen to on NPR.org.

Oprah can choose to back any presidential candidate she wants.
Heck Biz Markie voted for Shirley Chisholm. When we realize that in order to get great service, we have to give great service, we will realize an undivided power.

    Best,

    Ralph

Biz Markie voted for Shirley Chisholm?! When? In 1972? He’s either way older than I thought he was, or wrote her name in on a ballot for jokes during a more recent election. Please explain, Ralph.

Julia! Girl, where is your Hip Hop-ology? “Reagan is the prez, but I voted for Shirley Chisholm.” One of the greatest old school Hip Hop lines, sistah-love. 🙂

    Joy!
