The team behind Blue Marble Ice Cream is poised to go global with the creation of Sweet Dreams: Rwanda’s first-ever local ice cream shop. Sweet Dreams will be built in partnership with a dynamic Rwandan women’s cooperative, Ngoma Nshya and it will not only provide training and employment for women still struggling with economic hardships reverberating from 1994’s genocide, it will also support local farmers and give community members a place to gather and remember that life can, in fact, still be sweet.

Blue Marble’s July 26 ice cream social and musical performance will honor the women drummers of Ngoma Nshya — and raise much-needed funds for Sweet Dreams’ start-up budget. Please join Cleaver Co. in supporting this important and life-affirming cause.
